Yo

I have been quiet for a while
Reenergizing and normalizing not advertising my status
Unhooked from the apparatus
That fed me the potion that put into motion
The death knell to cancer cells that just wouldn’t quit

Each day has been better almost back to the go-getter
The Speedy Gonzalez the work in progress
I usually am never in recess practicing finesse
Annoying the wife through love and with caress

Yearning for next week where the news may be not bleak
That my immunity’s back to a suitable level
Free to escape the bonds and with my friends revel
In all that was happening outside of the bubble
Avoiding all trouble and watching the stubble
As it grew on my head while asleep in my bed

And then to the following week a few days at Mayo
The eminent place the crème de cacao
Where scans will reveal what I am starting to feel
That the potion delivered as planned to heal

First class in the plane – I’m not going to complain
Rent a car – it’s not that far
Hotel to stay – restaurant’s gourmet
Whiskey Bar – give me a jar!
Points to go – my quid pro quo.
