I have two Frangipani trees, a white flowered and a yellow flowered. This flower beckoned me today. “Hey look at me, I only have a couple of days won’t you be my friend?.” It’s mind-blowing that something so intensely beautiful and fragrant has such a short life span and we are too busy to notice.
I look like a stick insect more often than not
Nothing to look at no clothes have I got
Delicate beauty transforms out of view
I have magnificent surprises for you
My colors appear out of nowhere to bloom
I scent the air with sweet perfume
Clusters and clusters of petals and scent
One of nature’s premier events
My branches stretch in quiet grace,
Atop floral crowns for you to embrace.
And then I’m gone it’s time to rest
From all the nature I have blessed
I’ll be back each year anew,
That’s my promise to all of you
A new world my blooms reveal
Beauty born and spirits healed.
