Today I played golf as usual with my buddies. It was 7:32 AM, a chilly 53° F (11° C,) grass heavy with dew. One of the guys had his son playing, a senior at college, down for the holidays. He was accompanied by his girlfriend who braved the cold and early start just to be with her beau – young love. It gave me the perfect inspiration for my holiday poem. It was so sweet to see, a reminder of what the holidays are all about.
Winter Solstice, Christmas, Hanukkah,, Kwanzaa, or Festivus
The holidays always bring out the best in us
A time for our spirits to recharge
A time when families enlarge
The spirit of holidays, pure delight,
Calling us to kindness, to share our light.
With hearts wide open, we come to see,
The joy in giving selflessly.
It’s time to reflect on what matters most,
Family, friends—our love we toast.
Gratitude in buckets for our wealth,
And our families and our health.
Some of you find meaning in traditions old,
Stories of hope and faith retold.
Others find joy in time to reflect,
Our memories and abundance we respect.
At its core, the season sings,
Of our bonds and the peace it brings.
Our annual sacred holiday
And some respite from our day to day
Happy Everything To Everyone – Peace
