Some days I sit still and watch the wind
Stirring the leaves on the swaying palms.
In stillness, my mind is gently pinned,
Listening to nature’s calming psalms.
I pause to reflect on how life has changed,
From the weight of past pressures unchained,
Caught in the corporate race, now estranged,
Respectfully free, not bound or pained.
And in the stillness, noise is here,
Soft, almost muted, inconsequential,
Tune it out and peace appears
A serenity so rich and so essential.
For the stillness holds a luxury pure,
It’s everywhere, it’s where be ye
A moment of time, unhurried and secure.
This perfect peace, it’s here and free.
In full disclosure I wrote 80% of this as it is now. I sent my draft to ChatGPT for input and then had a couple more iterations which I edited to come up with this published version.
