It’s not a game that all can play
Reserved for special guests like me
Working to be cancer free

The room is called Chemo Café
You won’t find even one latte
People from all walks of life
Trying to stay out of strife

First the IV is inserted
So a steroid can be administered
Followed by the chemo drug
Drip drip drip it’s not a chug

Two hours later it’s all over
Now I have a chemical hangover
For two weeks it ebbs and flows
That’s just how the chemo goes
